Every dog loves a walk – but are there enough places for them to go in Murray Bridge?

The city’s council is asking dog owners and residents what they think in a survey this month.

At the moment, dogs must be kept on a leash in public, except in the city’s four designated dog parks:

  • Johnstone Park
  • White Park, on Mulgundawah Road
  • Kuchel Park, at the corner of Swanport Road and Burdekin Avenue
  • Tim Overall Reserve, a little space on Industry Road

The council is thinking of establishing two more dog parks by 2025, including at least one on the east side.

Murray Bridge Showground is one possible location highlighted in the survey.

What features does a good dog park need, the survey asks?

And should dogs be allowed to run around off-leash in other public parks, perhaps just at certain times of the day?

You’ve got until the end of next week to have your say.
