Important upgrades to the Mallee Highway will get underway next Monday.

Construction will affect drivers on the stretch of road between Tailem Bend and Geranium for nine months from June 17.

Upgrades will include road resealing, shoulder sealing, curve widening, the installation of safety barriers, line marking and some vegetation management.

Work hours will be from Monday to Sunday, 7am to 5pm.

The construction begins almost three months after the joint state and federally funded project was announced.
