Two Murray Bridge men arrested in Bandidos sting

Meanwhile, two Murray Bridge men are among five bikies who have been arrested over a get-together in Adelaide late last year.

The Murray Bridge men, both 23 and both alleged members of the outlawed Bandidos Motorcycle Club, were arrested on February 28.

SA Police also arrested two Adelaide men on the same day, and a fifth man from Aldinga last Wednesday.

All five were charged with criminal association, an offence which applies to any members of an outlaw motorcycle gang who gather in a public place.

In this case, police alleged they had all been seen together at a liquor store in Adelaide on December 22.

The officer in charge of SA Police’s crime gangs task force, Detective Chief Inspector David Huddy, said police would disrupt criminal enterprises wherever they could in order to maintain law and order and keep the public safe.

Two charged over unregistered gun at Tailem Bend

Police have arrested two people after allegedly finding an unregistered gun, and drug equipment, at a home at Tailem Bend.

Police searched the home just after 9am on March 26.

Its two occupants, a 57-year-old man and 48-year-old woman, will face several charges in Adelaide Magistrates Court on September 3.

Shopkeepers, watch out for stolen credit cards

Finally, police have warned retailers to beware of people trying to use stolen credit cards after several recent incidents in the Murray Mallee region.

To help protect victims of credit card theft:

  • Watch out for customers who act in an unusual manner, such as being flustered by questions or appearing to be in a hurry
  • Check that the customer’s signature matches the one on the card
  • Check for alterations to the card
  • If suspicious, ask for photo ID

If the credit card’s owner is not present, you may contact the relevant financial institution’s authorisations centre; if the transaction is unauthorised, you may hold onto the card and call SA Police on 131 444.
