Things to do in Murray Bridge, November 11-17 2022

Remembrance Day services will be held around the country this Friday, and the Murray Bridge RSL will be hosting theirs at the Sturt Reserve War Memorial.

Poppies are available for purchase at the Marketplace and Bunnings today.

The state’s largest drifting event, Locktoberfest, is on at the Bend from Friday to Sunday.

If you’re seeking work in the health care sector, or just want for information about working the industry, the Murray Bridge Health and Care Expo is at the town hall on Wednesday.

Or if it’s a bargain that you’re after, the Christ Church Lutheran thrift shop will host events on Friday and Saturday.

And don’t forget, council election voting closes at 5pm tonight!

You can take your ballots directly to your local council office until they close this afternoon.

Remembrance Day service: 10.50am at the Sturt Reserve war memorial, Murray Bridge. All are welcome, and anyone is welcome to lay a wreath. A light lunch will be provided after the service at the Murray Bridge RSL.

Remembrance Day service: Just prior to 10.50am at Tailem Bend war memorial, Railway Terrace, across from the council offices. All are welcome.

Fill a bag for $5: 9-3pm at John Dohler Hall, Swanport Road. Get in some early Christmas shopping at the Christ Church Lutheran Thrift Shop, fill a bag for only $5.

Locktoberfest: gates open 3pm at The Bend Motorsport Park. SA’s biggest drifting event is back with their freestyle. On Friday only, the event is free for spectators. Youth Art Prize: 2-4pm at the Murray Bridge Regional Art Gallery. Closing celebrations and winners will be announced. Bookings are essential, visit eventbrite.com or call the gallery on 8539 1420.

Murray Bridge community meeting: 6.30-8pm at the Murray Bridge Town Hall. An information session about the Murray River flows, impacts and ways to get prepared. SES and guest speakers will also be providing information on the night. If you can’t attend in person, the meeting will also be streamed live on the council YouTube channel.

Celebration of life and remembrance service: 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start at Murray Bridge Uniting Church. Hosted by the Murray Mallee Palliative Care team. A chance for people to remember and give thanks for the live of loved ones who have passed away. If you would like to join, please RSVP to 8535 6800.
