Things to do in Murray Bridge: July 1-7, 2022
NAIDOC Week celebrations are in full swing across the Murraylands, along with a still-life art session, a pre-loved book sale, Cars and Coffee and more.
Our first week of July will be a busy one, celebrating community, creativity and cars.
NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held throughout the country from this Sunday to next Sunday to commemorate the history, culture, impact and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the community.
“Get up, stand up, show up” is the theme for NAIDOC Week this year, and locals can look forward to festivities all over the Murraylands for people of all ages.
There will be the annual bridge walk in Murray Bridge, a family fun day in Mannum, celebrations in Meningie and more.
In other events, there is a still-life session at the gallery, a mega pre-loved book sale at the library, and cars and coffee at the wharf.

Mega pre-loved book sale: 10am-3pm at the Murray Bridge Library. Come along and stock up on some great reads that won’t hurt your back-pocket.
Mega pre-loved book sale: 9:30-11am at the Murray Bridge Library. Hosted by the Friends of the Murray Bridge Library.
Race day: from 11.30am at Murray Bridge Racing Club. Tickets start from $16.87 at moshtix.com.
River Murray football and netball: Imperials v Mypolonga at Johnstone Park, Jervois v Mannum at Jervois Oval, Meningie v Tailem Bend at Meningie Oval , Ramblers bye.
Still-life drawing with Lyn Wood: 12-3pm at Murray Bridge Regional Gallery. Join Lyn Wood to explore the key design elements of still-life, such as creating interesting compositions, dividing the picture plane and the potency of light. Cars and Coffee: 8-10am at the wharf precinct car park, Murray Bridge. The car enthusiasts social group is hosting their monthly event, and all are welcome to come along. Check out the cars on display and have a drink and a bite to eat at the wharf precinct along the river. Those bringing their cars can have a photo in front of the bridges. NAIDOC Week Bridge Walk and awards ceremony: 9:30am, east side of the bridge. NAIDOC week celebrations in Murray Bridge will kick off with the Bridge Walk on the bridge’s east side. The walk will end at the Murray Bridge council office for the flag raising and awards ceremony. Attendance is free.

Mannum NAIDOC family fun day: 10am at Mannum Council. Welcome to Country, flag raising, smoking ceremony, NAIDOC ‘Together as One’ walk to the showgrounds. NAIDOC Week storytelling and crafts: 10am-12:30pm at Murray Bridge Library. Come along and learn about the Ngarrindjeri through storytelling and fun arts and crafts. Meningie NAIDOC celebration: POSTPONED.
Murray Bridge Community Concert Band come and try evening: 7pm at the Baden-Powell Hall, Sixth Street, Murray Bridge. Meet band leader Ben Daly, sit in on a rehearsal or play with the band using your own instrument or one of those the band has available; flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, French horn, tuba, drum kit, percussion and bass guitar players wanted.
