Local mobility scooter user David Neihus says he can’t get into the cubicles without assistance, and hopes the Coorong council will do something about it.
I agree totally with Mr Neihus. I use a larger than normal walker and tried a number of times to use the disabled toilet at Tailem but simply didn't have the strength to keep the door open to get in. Surely this issue should of been thought of in the design process! I have found a lot of disabled toilets are designed by simply increasing the size of a regular toilet, which defeats the purpose.
