The other point I'd like to make - I was at the meeting and the Council DID NOT vote to spend any more money on this, the report will be sent to the OPI (Office of Public Integrity) for investigation, YES a full investigation. Please be careful of your biased reporting here and Neville it is time to start telling the TRUTH (remember what you put on your election flyer, "Please call me at any time - Give me your opinion and get the TRUTH")

So it’s OK to use a council fuel card (ratepayers money) to fill up two cars, or a car and jerry can, or a car and something else? It’s ok to use ratepayers money at a casino? It’s ok to spend over $18,000 on fuel over 4 years which averages out at almost $100/week (according to the report) in a car that holds 55L, & uses no more than 7litres per 100 kms - that’s approx 84 litres purchased per week which is some 1200 kms / week for a Cr who lives in Tailem Bend which is where the council office is and who according to his mayoral reports averaged 500 kms / week on mayoral duties and trips! So if it wasn’t fuel purchases on the fuel card and credit cards what was being purchased on the ratepayers behalf and where is the evidence the “purchases” were within the rules? Oh but that’s right the council officers have worked tirelessly to implement new policies and systems to stop this kind of activity because it seems according to both the auditor general AND in this report there were “conveniently” ZERO controls in place. In which case this council has spent a tiny amount on this investigation in order to save an extraordinary massive amount of money in credit card and fuel card spending (including large amounts on alcohol, gifts, technology, expensive hotels) over the four+ years this Cr was Mayor.
