A stolen port-a-loo has led Murray Mallee police to bust a Moorlands man for dealing methamphetamine.

Police had been looking for two portable toilets on a trailer which had been stolen from Jervois Combined Sporting Club on Friday.

They allegedly found the trailer on a property at Moorlands.

After speaking with a man who was present at the property, they searched him and allegedly found 17 grams of methamphetamine and $4050 in cash in his possession.

They arrested the 58-year-old for theft and trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.

He was refused bail ahead of a court appearance in Murray Bridge on Monday.

Murray Bridge News is not aware of any connection between the man arrested and the club from which the toilets were stolen.

Clarification: At the club’s request, this story has been updated to make it clearer that the drugs and cash were alleged to have been found in the man’s possession, not in the toilets.
