A Murray Bridge man is fighting for life after a road accident at White Hill.

The 27-year-old motorbike rider collided with a car towing a horse float on the Old Princes Highway just before 6am on Wednesday.

He was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The old highway remained closed between Adelaide Road and White Road this morning while major crash investigators studied the scene.
