If you’re stuck for a gift idea, head to Tailem Bend – the Wicker family probably have something that will suit perfectly.

Their family business, Regional Profile Cutters, specialises in high-quality Australian metal creations.

You never know what you might find there – they make everything from garden stakes and fire boxes to personalised signage, wall art, privacy screens and gates.

An astounding range of items are available from their bulk shop, or they can design and make almost anything to your specifications.

The enterprise began in 2011, when welder and boilermaker John Wicker enlisted his daughter Katie to come up with some inventive designs.

Soon the business flourished and the whole family became involved.

Wife and mum Helen handles the books, her son David helps brush steel, and her sister Julie Vogt helps out in the shop or on market trips.

The team has since sent products to every state in Australia, plus New Zealand, the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and beyond.

Locally, you might recognise them for the new police memorial at Tailem Bend, the entrance to the Pangarinda Botanic Garden, bin covers in the Murray Bridge and Coorong districts, and numerous business and property signs around the Murraylands.

Wherever they have ventured, they’ve left happy customers in their wake.
