A home-made knuckle duster was among items found on a man arrested at the Swanport Hotel on Wednesday night, police allege.

Police arrived at the hotel at 12.30am and began searching patrons with metal detectors.

Officers allege that they found the knuckle duster in the 26-year-old man's pocket.

They also seized a home-made taser, a machete, a pocket knife, a small amount of methamphetamine, some cannabis and drug-related paraphernalia, allegedly from the man's car.

The man was granted bail after being charged with carrying an offensive weapon, possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing a dangerous article.

He will face Murray Bridge Magistrates' Court on November 4.
