Finest ever music in Mypolonga heard

A concert in aid of the Mypolonga Institute and school was held in the local hall on Tuesday evening, April 28.

A large audience listened to a fine program of vocal and instrumental items rendered by a concert party which was organised by Mrs T Davey of Murray Bridge.

All the items were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience, and the consensus of opinion was that the entertainment was the finest heard in Mypolonga to date.

Railway men question their future work

The railway men of Murray Bridge have written a circular document on the uncertainness of their future work.

Motor vehicles traveling to Adelaide carrying freight is now the cheaper offer for businesses.

"If our railways do not pay, through motor competition, someone has to foot the deficiency and railway men and all workers will be taxed to square, the balance sheet," the circular stated.

Mount Barker increases in popularity

During the past 32 months or so the builders and contractors in and around Mount Barker have had a panic, as many new buildings have been added in and around the town.

In conversation with M Gordon, builder and contractor in Mount Barker, the writer learned that since last winter approximately 18 new residences have been put up within a mile or two of Mount Barker.

Included in these are some very fine homes.
