Not one, but two Ford Mustangs stolen in Murray Bridge

Someone out there has a particular taste in cars.

Police are appealing for information for the public after the theft of two Ford Mustangs in Murray Bridge during the past week.

A grey one, registration GTRS 5, was stolen from a home on Riverfront Road last Tuesday night, after 4pm and before 10.30 the next morning.

An orange one, registration XD 397H, was stolen from a house on Willow Avenue on Sunday, sometime between 6am and 6.30pm.

Both were recent models, built in 2017 and 2021.

Cash, gaming consoles and iPads were also stolen during the second break-in.

Police urged everyone to:

  • keep vehicles’ doors locked and windows closed
  • park in a locked garage or behind locked gates, and in a well-lit area at night
  • install an alarm or immobiliser
  • keep keys out of sight at home in case of a break-in

Teenagers arrested over baseball bat assault in Murray Bridge

Meanwhile, two teenagers have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 53-year-old Murray Bridge man with a baseball bat.

Police and paramedics were called to a home on Gail Crescent just before 3.45pm on Thursday.

The victim had sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Adelaide for treatment.

Police later arrested and laid assault charges against two young men, aged 19 and 17.

They were refused bail ahead of an appearance at Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on Friday.

Pair reported for doing burnouts near Long Island Reserve

Police have reported two more young men for allegedly doing burnouts on Wildens Way, near Murray Bridge’s Long Island Reserve.

The 20-year-old from Mypolonga and 19-year-old from Kepa were picked up at 3pm on Saturday.

Both their vehicles were impounded and each will face a charge of misusing a motor vehicle in court.

Jervois teenager allegedly caught drink driving at Meningie

Finally, in a separate incident, police have fined a 17-year-old P-plater from Jervois for drink driving.

He allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of .06 on the Princes Highway at Meningie at 8.40pm on Saturday.

Officers impounded his Ford sedan and he will have to face court.
