It's that time of the year again where we shine the spotlight on important and influential people in our community.

The citizen of the year award nominations are now open for the Murray Bridge, Coorong and Mid Murray councils.

The awards acknowledge the unsung heroes of our community who through their contributions make the region a better place.

The Murray Bridge Citizen of the Year Award categories are:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year
  • Award for Active Citizenship

The Coorong Citizen of the Year Award categories are:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year
  • Community Project of the Year

Coorong nominations close at 5pm on, October 24 2025.

The Mid Murray Citizen of the Year Award categories are:

  • Citizen of the year
  • Young citizen of the year
  • Community event of the year
  • Award for active citizenship
  • Mid Murray youth achievement award

The Mid Murray nominations will close at 5pm, November 17 2025.

It only take ones nomination to be the next citizen of the year, so don't hesitate to nominate today.

Earlier in the year Raelene Varga took at the 2025 Coorong citizen of the year, and Courtney Blacker won Murray Bridge’s citizen of the year.
