Mypolonga sporting club, 27 other groups will share $150,000 worth of community grants
A footy scoreboard, a domestic violence memorial, an employment project and Murray Bridge’s Christmas carols are among projects funded by the city’s council.

Sporting clubs, domestic violence campaigers, church groups and more will be among the beneficiaries of more than $150,000 worth of community grants to be handed out by the Murray Bridge council.
Councillors voted last week to support 28 applications for funding, including one from the Mypolonga Combined Sporting Club for $20,000 towards a new, safer-to-use scoreboard.
Another big winner was the group behind a push to have a domestic violence memorial built on Murray Bridge’s riverfront – the project will receive $23,330.
The Murray Mallee GP Network was granted $10,000 as it looks to establish a cafe which could help people living with mental health or addiction issues return to the workforce; and Chamber Music Adelaide was granted $10,000 towards a new event, the Twin Bridges Music Festival, scheduled for next April.

- Bridge City Church: $3000 for a playground at the Hub
- Business Murray Bridge: $6172 for the 2022 Murray Bridge Riverfront Christmas Festival
- Callington Agricultural and Horticultural Society: $2737 to advertise the 2022 Callington Show
- Community Living Australia: $3000 for the 2023 All Abilities Festival
- Foodbank: $3000 for building upgrades
- Jervois Primary School: $2000 towards a centenary celebration book
- Longriders Christian Motorcycle Club: $2249 for a new PA system
- Murray Bridge and District Historical Society: $1300 for preservation of historical items
- Murray Bridge Basketball Association: $2323 for a defibrillator and a TV
- Murray Bridge Community Centre: $5000 to help fit out the Edwards Square community centre
- Murray Bridge Community Concert Band: $4059 for music stands, a banner and trumpet mutes
- Murray Bridge Inter Church Council: $12,721 for Murray Bridge's 2022 Christmas carols
- Murray Bridge RSL: $3750 for new chairs
- Murraylands Cycling Club: $3911 for a mobile cycling clinic
- Murray Mallee GP Network: $5000 for the 2022 Mental Health and Wellbeing Expo and $2000 for Music Connections, an open mic-style event at the Station
- Mypolonga Progress Association: $3200 for its 2022 Ag Town of the Year bid
- SA Recreational Trails: $3359 for new signage along the Lavender Federation Trail
- Silent Ripples: $2880 for counselling training for mentor drivers in the L2P program
- Soroptimist International Murray Bridge: $3275 for a children's science show
- Sporting Shooters Association of Australia SA: $4403 for water tanks at their Monarto range
- St Vincent de Paul Society: $3000 for a van which will provide hot meals and other support to people sleeping rough in Murray Bridge
- Unity College: $2801 for lighting in the Steeple
- Wellington Progress Association: $5000 for fencing at the Murrundi Wetland
The Murray Bridge council hands out tens of thousands of dollars worth of community grants to local non-profit organisations, or those planning activities in the district, in March and September each year.
