Brady Wrigley has led Mypolonga to glory in the Murray Towns Cricket Association’s A1 grade grand final.

The Tigers easily chased down a victory target of 82 set by Monarto, losing a just the one wicket as things were wrapping up.

Brady Wrigley finished the pursuit on 47 not out and was named man of the match, having also taken 3/16 with the ball.

The win capped a dominant summer for Mypo, in which they won the minor premiership with a 10-2-1 record.

Captain Jared Marston was pleased that his side had finished the season with a good game of cricket.

“Honestly, we put in the work throughout the whole year,” he said.

“Everyone says that, but I know that we have.

“The best players have rocked up every weekend, we’ve had good numbers, everyone’s made themselves available, we gave ourselves our best opportunity to play at home – what more do you want?”

Aside from losing the coin toss – he would have loved to bat first – Mypo had done everything right during the grand final, he said.

The Black Caps’ wickets fell thick and fast, as they reached a score of 32 before losing 10/50.

Wrigley and Keynan Harradine each picked up three scalps for the Tigers, while Aaron Zrim put the pressure on with six maidens.

“There weren’t many runs today, but Brady coming in and smacking up 40 there, there’s no better way to chase a total than to get it easy,” Marston said.

Results from lower grades were not yet available at the time of publication.
