My Art, My Way celebrates creativity in the Coorong

The Coorong council’s gallery at Tailem Bend has come alive with colour, creativity and community spirit on Friday as 10 local artists showcased their work in the SALA exhibition My Art, My Way.
The exhibition opening highlighted the diversity of artistic talent across the region, featuring artists of all experience levels and backgrounds.
From emerging young artists displaying their work alongside established creatives, the exhibition embodied the inclusive spirit that has become a hallmark of the South Australian Living Artists Festival.
SALA is one of Australia’s largest visual arts festivals, with thousands of artists exhibiting works across hundreds of venues throughout South Australia each year.
The festival plays a vital role in bringing art to regional communities and providing opportunities for local artists to share their creativity with wider audiences.
Coorong council volunteer management officer Patsy Crabb said the exhibition was a wonderful reflection of the growing arts culture throughout the region.
“The standard of work on display was outstanding, and it was wonderful to see artists of all ages and abilities sharing their creativity with the community,” she said.
“The arts scene across the Coorong and surrounding regions continues to grow, with local artists producing work that is being recognised and exhibited throughout South Australia.
“Events like this encourage people to explore their creativity and help build stronger community connections.”

Visitors enjoyed a diverse collection of paintings, mixed media works and creative expressions, each reflecting the individual style and vision of the artists involved.
The success of My Art, My Way demonstrated the important role SALA continues to play in celebrating regional artists and showcasing the rich creative talent that exists throughout the Coorong district.
The exhibition will remain open at the Coorong Gallery until September 14.
The gallery is open from 9am-4.30pm on weekdays.
