Murraylands PR company shakes up national awards

Murray Bridge-based Commshake Media and Engagement has won two awards at the prestigious Public Relations Instititute of Australia Golden Target Awards.
Competing against bigger PR firms in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, the small team won silver in the small/boutique agency of the year category and bronze in the regional communications campaign of the year category.
Commshake director Courtney Blacker – like the name of her agency – was shaken and shocked by the wins.
“We were the only regional PR agency from South Australia that came away with one of the national awards,” she said.
“Our work is all about sharing great stories from SA with the world, and I’ve always believed we do this just as well as our city peers.
“To have it officially recognised by Australia’s industry leaders is an amazing feeling, and I’m so proud of the work my team continues to deliver.”
The seven-member team is based in SA’s regions, with offices in Murray Bridge and Port Lincoln.
“People in the country are unique because our lives, the things that connect us and have meaning to us, are different to our friends in the city,” Ms Blacker said.
“Over the past year alone, we’ve been able to work on world-leading projects like the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve, getting carp onto premium Australian restaurant menus and bringing international guests back to the Murray River post-COVID.
“Now we’re looking forward to what’s next.”
The two PRIA awards capped off a successful 2022 for Commshake, after its clients Destination Riverland and the Murray River, Lakes and Coorong Tourism Alliance took out gold and silver in the SA Tourism Awards.
