Murray Bridge hit-and-run victim’s family appeals for support

The family of a woman killed in a hit-and-run accident in Murray Bridge last week are appealing for help as they prepare to say goodbye.
Chantelle Medlam, a mother of five, was the local woman who died after being struck by a car on the Old Princes Highway around 9.45pm on Friday.
The car’s driver did not stop at the scene of the collision.
Ms Medlam’s eldest daughter – Chloe, 21 – has been left to plan her mother’s funeral.
On Tuesday, Ms Medlam’s sister-in-law Ellice Mrozek launched an online fundraiser to help the family put together a meaningful tribute.
“Chloe does not have the finances to be able to give Chantelle a proper service,” Ms Mrozek said.
“We feel Chantelle deserves a dignified and meaningful service, as her death was so tragic.
“If you can support Chloe and her siblings in any way to give their mother a proper service, it would be greatly appreciated.”
Meanwhile, police are still searching for the vehicle involved in the collision, and its driver.
They urged anyone who witnessed the crash, or who might have dashcam footage taken in the area at the time, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.
The Old Princes Highway was closed for almost six hours on Friday night while investigators looked at the scene.
Ms Medlam’s death was the 58th on South Australian roads this year.
