April Fools' Day 2023: Murray Bridge monorail planned
The city's council has come up with an innovative solution to the lack of local public transport on the morning of April 1, 2023.
After years of crying out for an Adelaide Metro bus service, the Murray Bridge council has proposed an alternative mode of public transport for the rural city.
An unsolicited approach has led local authorities to invest in a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-car monorail.

Spotlight falls on old Bunnings as retailer confirms plans
A crafty retailer will make its long-awaited debut in the Murraylands later this year.
Spotlight plans to occupy a former hardware store at the corner of Adelaide and Maurice Roads – a building it will share with Harvey Norman, Dan Murphy’s, JB Hi-Fi, a Bounce trampoline franchise and a partridge in a pear tree.

Almost 12 months after starting what was supposed to be a refurbishment of the 1879 road bridge, Department for Infrastructure and Transport staff have decided to just down tools and leave things as they are.
