Monarto's Go Kart Club to receive $20,000 in federal funding

Monarto’s Go Kart Club is a successful applicant in Round 8 of the Stronger Communities Program, which will provide $22.7 million to fund small capital projects in the 151 federal electorates across Australia.

The goal of Round 8 of the program is to help communities recover from adverse weather conditions and the current economic pressures.

As community consultation is a big part of the program, each local federal MP was expected to identify potential applicants and projects in their electorate and invite them to apply for a grant.

Each electorate will receive up to $150,000 to allocate to successful applicants.

Tony Pasin, Federal Member for Barker, supported the Go Kart Club’s grant application.

“It’s fantastic that the club is getting back on track and can be supported with the federal government grant,” Mr Pasin said.

“The impacts of pandemic restrictions are still being felt by many clubs and organisations like the Go Kart Club of SA, who battled through a considerable time with limited access to facilities and fewer race meetings offered.”

Go Kart Club of SA president Warren Nietz said that the club members appreciated Mr Pasin’s support in getting the funding.

“The funding will help build new infrastructure at the club that will help support our junior and senior driving programs, as well as our come ‘n’ try days,” Mr Nietz said.

Mr Pasin said that the Albanese government will no longer continue its funding for the Stronger Communities Program, which he felt “very sad” about.
