Mid Murray community groups and organisations can now apply for grants to help deliver local recreational, cultural, community and environmental activities.

The local council's annual program offers three main categories for grants to assist with community events and projects.

The three categories open for grant applications are:

Mid Murray Mayor Simone Bailey said the program would support local groups and projects that enriched participation, connection, and diverse opportunities in the district.

“Each year these grants assist with projects that provide recreational, cultural, community and environmental benefits across the Mid Murray," she said.

“The program is also a way for council to acknowledge and support the incredible work of our community groups and individuals who are proactive in their efforts to provide our residents with a broad range of activities to enjoy."

Additionally, the Mid Murray council also run a year-round individual sport and cultural grant program.

This assists locals attending sport, music, art or other cultural activities at a state, national and international level.
