Man dies in workplace accident at Costa Adelaide Mushrooms
Police and Safework SA are investigating the death of a man aged in his 20s at Monarto South.
A 24-year-old man has died in a workplace accident at Costa Adelaide Mushrooms, at Monarto South.
Paramedics were called to the mushroom farm on Pope Road around 8.20pm on Tuesday after a report that a Strathalbyn man had been critically injured.
Despite their best efforts, he died at the scene.
Regulator Safework SA is investigating the death, and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
More than 500 people work at the Monarto South facility, which is one of the largest in the world, producing hundreds of tonnes of mushrooms every week.
