Learn about spray drift with Grain Producers SA in Murray Bridge
Growers, contractors and agronomists are invited to improve their knowledge on an important topic at a free full-day workshop.

Growers who want to use best practices in preventing spray drift are invited to a workshop in Murray Bridge next week.
Expert contractor Mary O’Brien, from Queensland’s Darling Downs, is touring South Australia to share what she has learned over 25 years in the industry.
Growers will learn about:
- the science behind spray behaviour
- nozzle selection
- accounting for weather
- record-keeping responsibilities
More than 100 farmers around SA have already attended another 11 workshops presented by Grain Producers SA, with support from Primary Industries and Regions SA.
Even amid the current drought, GPSA CEO Brad Perry said, making sure growers’ knowledge in this area was worthwhile.
“These sessions are equipping growers with the knowledge and tools to help prevent off-target impacts and protect neighbouring crops, communities, and the environment, while also learning about new innovations in the field,” he said.
“It’s about building confidence in our practices and demonstrating to the broader community that grain producers take their responsibilities seriously.”
The Murray Bridge workshop will run from 9am-3pm next Tuesday, May 27 at the Imperial Football Club, with morning tea and lunch provided.
Another workshop will be held at Coomandook Uniting Church the day beforehand.
