Police graduates will be posted in Murray Bridge

Thirteen new police officers have graduated from the SA Police Academy, some of whom will start their careers in Murray Bridge.

The graduates from course 83, on September 17, included nine men and four women ranging in age from 19 to 45.

They brought to the force experience from an array of industries such as retail, construction and security; and diverse backgrounds, including officers born in China, Cyprus, Bosnia and Italy.

New graduate Nicole worked as a signwriter for 30 years before joining the police at 45.

“Not having attended school for so long was a challenge being an older applicant," she said.

"Once I had gone on out-phase though, it all started to come together, and I started seeing significant improvement.

“Every officer I worked with was considerate, helpful and had values that align with mine."

The new officers will be stationed at metropolitan and regional areas including Murray Bridge and Port Pirie.
