The Jervois Bowling Club will have a newly revamped synthetic playing surface for the upcoming pennants season.
The old synthetic surface had served the club well, having been in place since 2008 when the original grass green was replaced, but was showing signs of wear and imperfections to the base.
Costing in the region of $200,000 and installed by Berry Bowling Systems, the renovation was totally funded by the club with the aid of a bank loan.
Club president Denis Hicks is pleased with the result, although there are still more jobs such as rolling and line marking by club members to be completed to get the surface up to speed for the pennant season.
The club is always on the lookout for new players, regardless of age, experience or ability, and is well known for its social and convivial atmosphere.
Teas and practice are held on Thursday nights from late September and all are welcome.
The Lower Murray bowls season will begin next month.
