After 33 years on the reality tv show, Home and Away, Lynne McGranger is leaving to pursue her passion for the theatre.

This August herself and the cast of The Grandparents Club 2, will be in Murray Bridge for an all-new on stage adventure at the town hall.

The show follows a group of friends, who are all cruising through the life of a grandparent, although you don't have to be one to attend.

"It's basically about a group of friends who get together and reminisce, share laughs and different conundrums that grandparents face," Ms McGranger said.

The show reminds us of the important role that grandparents play in our life, touching on the tricky relationships between them and their adult children.

She's joined on stage by Wayne Scott Kermond, Meredith O’Reilly and Andrew James.

The group kicked off the start of their tour in Ipswich and have a couple weeks of rest before making their way to South Australia.

"Grab your grandkids, grab your kids, grab your grandparents or just grab a friend or come by yourself. Either way, you're guaranteed to have a wonderful time."

"You can have a late lunch and then come and see us, or you can come and see the show and then get home in time for Home and Away," Ms McGranger said.

Although the singing, dancing and acting on stage may be exhausting it helps the fitness levels, she said.

Ms McGranger started off her in the theatre, doing cabarets and such and knew she wanted to get back into it before she "looses her marbles".

"We always have a great time coming into regional areas and it's always exciting to be somewhere you've never been before," she said.

The Grandparents Club 2 will be performing on August 16 from 5pm-6.30pm at the Murray Bridge performing arts centre.
