Halloween will level up in Murray Bridge this year with the introduction of a bingo trail activity.
Families who dress up and go out trick-or-treating next Friday night, October 31, will be able to follow the trail around the city, getting a card stamped at participating businesses.
Those who manage to fill out their bingo card will be able to enter a prize draw.
The idea was the brainchild of Alexandra Kermond at community service provider AC Care.
“Some people aren’t confident about going to people’s houses, but we want all kids to be able to join in and get dressed up,” she said.
“How good would it be to see the main street full again?”
She and her colleagues at 29 Bridge Street plan on decorating and dressing up.
Murray Bridge News will again take part in festivities this year, this time at its own office at 30 Seventh Street.
Trick-or-treaters will be able to stop by to have their photo taken, grab a lolly or chocolate and – importantly, if you’re planning on making an evening of it – plan a bathroom stop.
Other participating businesses will include:
- Alchemy Services: 6-8pm at 88 Adelaide Road
- Bridge Bowl: 5-10pm at 6A Maurice Road, alongside a Halloween glow bowling party; bookings are essential for anyone intending to bowl
- Grazingfordayz: 5-8pm at 30 Bridge Street; they will also have a photo booth as usual
- Uniting SA: 2-5pm at 33 Mary Terrace
Bunnings will also be participating, but you’ll have to visit one night earlier – they will be hosting a Halloween event from 5-7pm next Thursday, October 30.
Main street bookshop Fiction and Friction will not be involved this year due to a schedule clash, but its owner was kind enough to donate some decorations and lollies to Murray Bridge News.
Households willing to welcome trick-or-treaters on the evening of October 31 are encouraged to register their interest in the Halloween Trick or Treat Murray Bridge Facebook group.
