No-one builds scarecrows like the kids at Fraser Park.

For the second year running, students at the Murray Bridge school and preschool have come home from the Royal Adelaide Show with their heads held high.

Their creations were named the best and third-best in the schools scarecrow competition.

The preschool children took out the top prize with a scarecrow modelled after Costa Georgiadis, in his role as Costa the garden gnome from Get Grubby TV.

Mr Georgiadis – who was also the competition’s judge – was suitably impressed.

He even recorded a special message for the children which they’ll get to see this week.

A scarecrow made by Mr Grantham’s school class, modelled after Mr Shark from The Bad Guys, was named the best in its category.

A firefighter scarecrow made by the preschoolers won the best-in-show prize last year.

The win will give Fraser Park families one more thing to crow about as the school builds a proud new identity.
