Five Tailem Bend streets will get new footpaths – but are they the right ones?

The Coorong council has a plan to fix up footpaths around Tailem Bend and its other towns.
Now residents have a chance to say what they think about it.
Five streets at Tailem have been earmarked for new footpaths over the next five years: Railway Terrace, Upton Street, Trevena Road, Granites Road and George Street.
Councillors approved the $600,000 footpath plan last November.
But are there other streets which more urgently need the work?
Mayor Paul Simmons wants to know.

“Footpaths play an essential role in our community’s health and wellbeing: they connect us to services, community facilities and shared open spaces,” he said.
“It’s important to ensure Coorong footpaths are serving our community’s unique needs.”
Feedback from members of the public will be passed on to councillors before they finalise the footpath strategy.
