The first of five Stobie pole mosaics has recently been completed to brighten up the streets of Murray Bridge.

Two months ago Eileen Newbery and friends were inspired to create the artworks by the Bowden Bird Walk project.

The first mosaic features a kookaburra amongst beautiful native blooms, with a bright blue background adding a pop of colour.

Ms Newbery said the recent art addition was creating a lot of interest among residents.

"We are thrilled with the result ... now for number two," she said.

There are four more Stobie poles set to be decorated on streets near Murray Bridge’s hospital roundabout.
