Fires destroy sheds at Ettrick and Monarto
Plus a local man is caught with cannabis and cash, a police officer is injured in a pursuit, a Murray Bridge home is broken into and more.
Firefighters have managed to save a house and a shed from a fire at Ettrick which caused $100,000 worth of damage on Monday.
A second shed, household batteries, a truck body, a motorbike and other items were destroyed in the fire on a property 32 kilometres east of Murray Bridge.
Ten Country Fire Service and two Metropolitan Fire Service crews joined the fight, and police and paramedics also rushed to the scene.
Fire cause investigators were expected to take a closer look at the incident.
Meanwhile, just before midnight on December 29, CFS crews were alerted to reports of a fire on a rural residential property in Monarto.
Upon arrival a large shed was fully engulfed with flames.
A joint response from both the CFS and MFS saw approximately 25 firefighters and seven fire trucks working to extinguish the fire.
The shed is purported to contain multiple high value items, however damages have yet to be determined.
Firefighters effectively contained the fire, actively preventing any further spread to closely surrounding vehicles and structures.
SA Police and SA Ambulance are assisted on scene, with one property occupant treated for minor burns on site and taken to hospital.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
Murray Bridge man nabbed with 1.3kg of drugs and $2500 cash
A 41-year-old man has been reported after cannabis and cash were allegedly located in his home at Murray Bridge.
On January 2 police searched a home at an address on Homburg Drive, allegedly locating 1.3 kilograms of dried cannabis and $2,500 in cash.
The occupant was reported for trafficking a commercial quantity of cannabis and will face court.

Serious crash at Tailem Bend
Four people were taken to hospital after a crash at Tailem Bend involving two vehicles.
Just after 3.30pm on Thursday 2 January, police and emergency vehicles were called to the Dukes Highway near the Mallee Highway intersections.
The four people involved in the incident received minor injuries.
Police officer injured during Tailem Bend car chase
On Tuesday 24 December a police officer was injured at Tailem Bend during a car chase.
At about 10.30am police were called after a Mitsubishi with no front bumper, a smashed windscreen and no registration plates was seen driving erratically near Padthaway.
The car which was unable to be located at the time, was later spotted leaving Meningie heading toward Tailem Bend at 6pm.
The car pulled into a service station at Tailem Bend, where police attempted to spike the tyres.
At this time the car collided with a police officer who received leg injuries and was conveyed to hospital in a stable condition.
The car then drove south on Princes Highway before the driver and sole occupant dumped the car on Golf Course Road and ran into the scrub.
Police with the assistance of Special Tasks and Rescue officers located and negotiated with the 30-year-old man before he was safely placed under arrest just after 8pm.
Two firearms were allegedly located upon searching the car and the man will face court.

Tailem Bend CFS responds to minor grass fire
On December 21 at approximately 2:30pm, Tailem Bend 44 received a call to assist Murray Bridge with a grass fire.
Shortly after Tailem 34P also responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, both crews worked to extinguish the fire and black out the fire ground.
The incident serves as a reminder to be prepared for bushfires; it is essential to have a bushfire plan in place.
Tailem Bend Fire and Rescue urge everyone to exercise caution with the coming hot weather.

Witnesses sought after Murray Bridge break-in
Police are investigating after a home was broken into at Riverglades earlier this month.
Between 9.30 and 10.30 am on Sunday 8 December, a property on Torrens Road was allegedly broken into and cash and personal belongings stolen.
Murray Bridge Detectives are investigating and are seeking the assistance of the public.

Local traffic offences
Finally, police have caught a number of drivers in recent weeks:
- A 44-year-old Woods Point man was allegedly caught speeding while disqualified from driving on Jervois Road last Friday; he will face court
- A 22-year-old Tranmere man was allegedly found driving while disqualified on the Mallee Highway at Tailem Bend; his vehicle was impounded and he will face court
- On December 22 a grey Mitsubishi SUV was stopped on Swanport Road; a 34-year-old women allegedly returned a positive breath test result of 0.138; she was reported, lost her license and will appear in court
- A 35-year-old man was stopped at Murray Bridge East on the Old Princes Highway on December 21; checks revealed he was allegedly driving while disqualified; he was reported and will face court
