A fire at a horse rehabilitation centre at Monarto South has caused $300,000 worth of damage to the property.

The Country Fire Service was called to the Lincoln Park Horse and Human Rehabilitation Centre shortly after 5pm on Sunday.

Twenty-five CFS firefighters in six trucks responded, working alongside the Metropolitan Fire Service, SA Police, SA Power Networks and SA Ambulance Service.

Fortunately, no one was home at the time and the occupant’s dogs and horses were soon accounted for.

Two caravans next to the home were saved and volunteer firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used positive-pressure fans to ventilate the structure.

The rehabilitation centre offers equine therapy with horses that have been rehabilitated on the property.

Fire investigators were called to the scene and will continue to undergo investigations.

“We are all okay, will be assessing damage and working through how to rebuild,” the centre said in a Facebook post.

“Thank you all for your support.”
