Fundraising appeal launched after $300k fire at Monarto equine therapy centre
All animals are safe, but the fire has destroyed a house at the Lincoln Park Horse and Human Rehabilitation Centre.

An online fundraising appeal has been launched for a Monarto charity which suffered $300,000 worth of damage in a fire over the weekend.
The Country Fire Service was called to the Lincoln Park Horse and Human Rehabilitation Centre, on Frahns Farm Road at Monarto South, shortly after 5pm on Sunday.
Twenty-five CFS firefighters in six trucks responded, working alongside the Metropolitan Fire Service, SA Police, SA Power Networks and SA Ambulance Service.
A house at the property was destroyed.
Fortunately, no one was home at the time and the occupant’s dogs and horses were soon accounted for.
Two caravans next to the home were saved and volunteer firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used positive-pressure fans to ventilate the structure.
Fire investigators attended the scene.
The Lincoln Park Horse and Human Rehabilitation Centre rescues and rehabilitates neglected, abused and unwanted horses.
It also provide equine therapy and education programs for members of the public.
“We are all okay, will be assessing damage and working through how to rebuild,” its operators, Lincoln and Sonya Little, said in a Facebook post.
“Thank you all for your support.”

Online fundraising appeal launched
On Monday afternoon, Chloe Little launched an online fundraising appeal for Mr and Mrs Little – her dad and step-mum.
“Lincoln and Sonya have devoted their lives to running the Lincoln Park Horse and Human Rehabilitation Centre, which helps in the rescue and rehabilitation of once neglected, abused and unwanted horses and other wildlife,” she said.
“We are hoping to raise funds to aid them in rebuilding their home so they can continue to care the wildlife they have devoted their lives to.”
“Any amount, great or small, can make a massive difference.”
The appeal had raised around $2000 of a $5000 target by 10am on Tuesday.
The centre is a registered charity, and donations are tax deductible.
