April Fools Day 2025: Flush with ideas, council reveals east side sewer alternative
The Murray Bridge council will erect a port-a-loo on every east side street corner after its failure to get a sewer network built. Er, maybe.
Portable toilets will be erected on every street corner to compensate for the looming failure of residents' septic systems on Murray Bridge's east side, the local council has announced.
A modest property rate increase will support the purchase of approximately 1200 port-a-loos, which will be placed at every intersection at Murray Bridge East, Riverglades and Avoca Dell.
A council report suggested the likely decrease in local property values would offset the impact of any rate rise.
