Thirty years after a Murray Bridge teacher’s body was found in a Brunei apartment, her family is still searching for justice.
Anthea Bradshaw-Hall was 26 years old and newly married when she went to visit her husband in the South East Asian country where he worked.
During her visit, she even interviewed for a job there, dreaming of a new life.
But on July 21, 1994, the day before her flight home, she was found dead in his apartment.
A local coroner ruled that the death was suspicious, and that her husband – Jeffrey John Hall – was the only suspect.
However, neither local authorities nor the Australian Federal Police ever made an arrest over the case – not even after Australia’s parliament changed the law to allow the AFP to investigate the overseas death.
Now the Bradshaw family hopes to find answers.
Adelaide journalist Ben Avery has launched a true crime podcast exploring the circumstances around Ms Bradshaw-Hall’s murder.
The first episode, embedded below and available through major podcasting apps, was released on Sunday.
“As I watch Anthea Bradshaw’s wedding video, I struggle to comprehend the events that would follow that day in 1994,” Mr Avery told Nine News.
“Within months, the smiling bride would be brutally killed, and the guests in the church would be back there again, for her funeral.
“What went so wrong in the three months between the happiest and the saddest day of their lives?
“Thirty years on, we don’t know.”
The Bradshaw family strongly believes someone in or from Adelaide may have information that could crack the case, according to Crime Stoppers.
