Announcing Murraylands Life, a new magazine celebrating our region
The publishers of Murray Bridge News will launch a quarterly print publication in September 2023.
There’s a feeling you get when you watch the sun rise over the River Murray.
You feel at peace, absolutely contented, and excited about what lies ahead.
That’s the feeling Murraylands Life, a new magazine by the publishers of Murray Bridge News, will aim to capture at its launch in September 2023.
Murraylands Life will be all about the things that make South Australia’s Murraylands great: stunning natural vistas, the finest food and drinks, world-beating experiences, and friendly local people who are doing amazing things.
Each quarterly edition will feature:
- Profiles of outstanding people
- Upcoming events
- Food and drink
- Tourism destinations
- Real estate and retirement living
- Weddings
- The arts
The magazine will be available free of charge at visitor information centres, accommodation providers and major retailers throughout the region.
Alternatively, readers can subscribe to have copies posted directly to them every three months.
Managing editor Peri Strathearn said the magazine would appeal to proud locals, visitors and people who aspired to move into the Murraylands.
“I’m excited to step back into the world of print publishing and launch a product that I’m sure will be embraced by people around our beautiful region,” I said.
“Part of our mission at Murray Bridge News has been to be positive about this part of the world, to get people to understand what the word ‘Murraylands’ means and what we have to offer.
“In my 11 years as a local journalist I’ve written about Australia’s best olive oil, world-renowned safari experiences, niche producers achieving global success, and of course the River Murray itself, an outstanding holiday destination in its own right.
“These are the sorts of positive local stories we hope to share with a wider audience in Murraylands Life magazine.”
The publishers are looking for local experts to help them find the people, destinations and businesses that make the Murraylands such a great place, too – including paid contributors who can write stories about or take photos in their communities.
Each edition of Murraylands Life will be printed at Print City, in Murray Bridge, in a glossy, conveniently sized format.
Print City managing director Ryan Hansen – the former publisher of Motive magazine – said he, too looked forward to the new publication.
“There’s definitely a need for it,” he said.
“This will be something different, more lifestyle than news.
“I’m glad we can be involved.”
