Hi, I’m Alex, and for those of you looking for an idea of work experience in the journalism area, I can offer you an insight.

This week I completed my work experience at Murray Bridge News and I learnt so many new skills and ideas about life in the journalism sector.

I was given the opportunity to write stories for their online newspaper and get them published, which is such a cool accomplishment.

These included articles about the River Revival scheme, a comedy show at Jervois and a new photo competition in the Barker electorate.

I was also fortunate enough to tag along to a couple of interviews with different people and ask questions for certain stories.

I helped construct their weekly email edition, recorded a social media post for their Facebook and helped take some pictures for their stories.

I learnt about how they find stories and advertise their brand.

Getting to know all the members of the team, Peri, Liana and Jane was also really cool.

All in all, it was an awesome week and I certainly think I might look into journalism further.
