Woodlane solar installer arrested for $1.9 million deception
Plus SA Police warn about speed camera locations around the Murraylands.
Police have arrested and charged a Woodlane man for allegedly scamming two people out of almost $1.9 million.
The 43-year-old man, formerly the director of a solar company, allegedly took payment for works that were never completed between December 2017 and September 2019.
Police allege that not only did he never install the victims’ solar power systems, as promised, he never purchased the necessary equipment or organised any power purchase agreement.
Detectives from SA Police’s serious and organised financial crime investigation section searched the man’s property last Thursday.
They brought him back to the Murray Bridge police station for questioning, laid the charges, and released him on bail ahead of an appearance at Adelaide Magistrates Court on February 26.
Watch out for speed cameras
Meanwhile, SA Police will have speed cameras all over the place in the Murraylands in the lead-up to Christmas.
Be sure to stick to the speed limit on:
- Monarto South: Old Princes Highway
- Murray Bridge: Adelaide Road, Mannum Road, Mulgundawah Road, Swanport Road
- Murray Bridge East: Old Princes Highway

Cameras will also be active in the Adelaide Hills, around Strathalbyn and down the Dukes Highway.
