An Australian romance author is soon coming to Murray Bridge to launch her newest book, The Bad Bridesmaid โ€“ and you can win a free copy.

Rachael Johns will host a meet and greet for all romance book lovers at Murray Bridge Library from 2-3.30pm on February 5, in conversation with local radio personality Jennie Lenman.

Johns drew inspiration for her new book from The Parent Trap in writing what she called a "reverse Parent Trap for grown-ups".

The Bad Bridesmaid is a heart-warming romance about the magic and mayhem of weddings โ€“ and what happens when everything you thought you knew about love is turned upside down.

While the author said she had never tried to stop a wedding from happening, she credited herself with being a cursed bride, as all of her bridesmaids had since divorced.

Once upon a time โ€“ briefly โ€“ Johns was an English teacher, then her dreams of becoming a novelist came true.

Now she spends her days writing romance and womenโ€™s fiction in the Swan Valley, Western Australia.

She has won the Romance Writers of Australia RUBY Award twice and her book The Patterson Girls won the ABIA Award in 2016 for general fiction.

To celebrate the coming release of The Bad Bridesmaid on January 28, three Murray Bridge News readers have the chance to win a paperback copy.
