Bags for blokes initiative launched in Murray Bridge

In collaboration with the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge, local police received five bags for blokes to share with the community in the lead up to Christmas.

The bags will be available for free from the Murray Bridge police station for community members in need.

Not only do the bags provide these essential items, but they help restore dignity and respect to the men who receive them.

Bags for blokes is an independent charity that provides bags filled with toiletries, clothes and other hygiene products for men experiencing homelessness and hardship.

A number of other service providers throughout the Murray Bridge region will also have the bags available.

Local police and CFS team up for fire season safety

Last Wednesday, Murray Bridge police and the local CFS teamed up to provide essential fire danger season information.

The Murray Bridge crime prevention and CFS community engagement officers held a community pop-up stand at Drake's Supermarket.

Police and fire officers provided information to the public about the imminent fire danger season, including fire danger ratings, getting prepared for the fire danger season and what they can and can't do on total fire ban days.

They also discussed the importance of having a fire safety plan, so make sure to get onto yours.
