Whatever happened to the Murraylands Job Board, anyway?

The disappearance of a popular Murraylands Facebook page has left job seekers scrambling for new places to find work.

The admins of the Murraylands Job Board page took it down several weeks ago in response to an ongoing legal issue.

An advertisement they re-posted from elsewhere had become the subject of a complaint to the Equal Opportunity Commission, local volunteers Nikki and Emily told Murray Bridge News.

They had temporarily taken the job board down as a precaution, but hoped to get it back up and running in due time.

“We would like to thank the community for their support and apologise for choosing to close without warning, however (we) have taken a cautious approach in the circumstances while we seek advice,” they said.

“We have worked very hard in our volunteer roles to provide support, increase accessibility and build capacity for local businesses and people in our community.

“We hope to back serving the community in this role soon once we have addressed the current unforeseen matter.”

They were especially committed to supporting and empowering the Ngarrindjeri people, traditional owners of the region, as well as other members of the community, they said.

In the meantime, job seekers can see what’s available on websites including Jora, Adzuna, Seek, Indeed and Career One.
