What if I’m being repeatedly signed out every time?

Ordinarily, your device should remember your login details for about six months. From time to time, you may be asked to repeat the steps listed above. This helps to guard against unauthorised access to your account.

However, some readers have reported being signed out every time they access Murray Bridge News. Most commonly, this will be because your web browser is blocking “cookies” – the code which allows your browser to remember that you are logged in. To fix this problem:

  • In Safari: On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app, then go to Safari > Advanced > Cookies and deselect “block all cookies”. On your Apple computer, open Safari and go to Preferences > Privacy and deselect “block all cookies”.
  • In Google Chrome: Click the three dots to open the menu, then go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Third-party cookies and deselect “block third-party cookies”.
  • In Microsoft Edge: Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data and select “allow sites to save and read cookie data”.
  • In Samsung Internet: Open the Settings app, then go to Apps > Samsung Internet > Samsung Internet settings > Sites and downloads > Site permissions > Cookies and deselect “block all cookies”.
  • In Firefox: Go to Settings > Privacy and security, and under “enhanced tracking protection”, select “standard”.
