SA Police have arrested a 16-year-old Murray Bridge girl over a theft from an Adelaide shop in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

At 4.30am, a staff member at the North Terrace business went to take the bins out.

At least two people then kicked the door in, stole money from a till and ran off.

Police found the teenaged girl nearby soon afterwards and charged her with serious criminal trespassing.

She was granted bail and will face the Adelaide Youth Court on March 1.

The search for the other offender, or other offenders, continues.

Anyone with information about the theft should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.

Watch out for speed cameras in the Murraylands

Meanwhile, police will be out and about on Murraylands roads this week, so be sure to stick to the speed limit.

Among the list of roads they’ll be targeting are several back streets in Murray Bridge, including Hill Street, Standen Street and Seventh Street.

Other roads to be monitored over the next seven days include:

  • Adelaide Road, Murray Bridge
  • Dukes Highway, Tailem Bend
  • Mallee Highway, Tailem Bend
  • Mannum Road, Murray Bridge
  • Old Princes Highway, Murray Bridge East
  • Princes Highway, Tailem Bend
  • Railway Terrace, Tailem Bend
  • South Eastern Freeway, Murray Bridge
  • Swanport Road, Murray Bridge

Just in case you were thinking of putting your foot down, the fixed camera at the intersection of Adelaide Road, Mannum Road, Bridge Street and Swanport Road will still be operating, too.

Even driving less than 10 kilometres per hour faster than the speed limit attracts a $180 fine.
