More than 70 people and their pooches have come together for Murraylands Animal Welfare Watch’s annual Paws Walk.
The Murray Bridge event raised several hundred dollars for the RSPCA.
A follow-up is already pencilled in for 2026.
Its organisers hoped to continue it into the future, raising funds for the RSPCA or other animal welfare bodies.
They also saw the walk as a means for local dog owners to meet and get to know each other.
In fact, Sunday’s event spawned a monthly, social dog walk.
The first such walk will begin on Sunday, June 29 at 10am.
Fur-friends on leads, and their humans, will be welcome to meet on the corner of Olympic and Murray Cods Drive at Sturt Reserve.
The walk will bean easy 1.5-kilometre stroll around the precinct, followed by a coffee and chat by the river for anyone wishing to stay on.

At Sunday's walk are Dean and Ziggy; Kym and Theo; Jess and Jason with Texan and Letty; Kelly and Sasha; Tom and Lulu; Veronica and Gypsy; Donna with Frankie, Gemma-Liu and Maciemoo; Kaylee and Bailey; and Gail and Ash. Photos: Murraylands Animal Welfare Watch.
The Paws Walk began as a spin-off from the annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk events which used to run all throughout South Australia.
Sadly, the RSPCA has announced its event will end; the organisation will hold its final Million Paws Walk this weekend in Adelaide.
