Transporter parade will return to Tailem Bend ahead of 2022 OTR Super Sprint
B-double transporters will herald the return of competitors for the 2022 Supercars Championship’s OTR Super Sprint at the Bend Motorsport Park.
A transporter parade will visit the streets of Tailem Band ahead of the town’s Supercars race later this month.
The multi-million-dollar parade of Supercars transporters will herald the return of competitors in the 2022 Supercars Championship’s OTR Super Sprint at the Bend Motorsport Park.
An entourage of local classic cars from the Tailem Bend Auto Club will also join in the procession.
Coorong Mayor Paul Simmons said locals and tourists alike were expected to come out in droves to line the main street in welcome of the B-doubles’ return on July 27.
“In 2021 over 1500 people lined the main street to welcome the Supercars Championship to Tailem Bend, and we are expecting similar numbers this year,” he said.
“We are delighted to host this year’s Supercars transporter parade, which provides our own community a fantastic opportunity to join in and celebrate our region hosting a large-scale motor sport event in our own backyard.
“The OTR Super Sprint is a drawcard not only for the Bend Motorsport Park, but for our surrounding region and local businesses.”
The parade will begin at 4pm, with the B-doubles making their way from the Bend Motorsport Park along the Dukes Highway towards Tailem Bend, turning onto Tuscany Grove, then Big Olive Grove and along Golf Course Road, then entering Tailem Bend and venturing down Railway Terrace.
The transporters will finish their journey by turning onto Granites Road and then Princes Highway to return to the Bend.
The Supercars are expected to arrive on Railway Terrace around 4-4.30pm.
Unfortunately, due to the event’s timing, the popular meet-and-greet with Supercars drivers will not take place this year.
The 2022 OTR Super Sprint will held on July 29-31 at the Bend Motorsport Park.
