Murray Bridge Police Court

A young girl of 14 was arraigned before Messrs M.W. Parish and H.L. Binney on April 28 on a charge of being an uncontrollable child who could not be properly controlled by her parent.

Her father pleaded guilty, and the girl was committed to Barton Vale Girls’ Home until the age of 18 years.

Orange blossoms

At St John’s Church of England, Murray Bridge on Tuesday, April 22, a wedding was celebrated by Reverend W.A. Terry.

The contracting parties were Harriet May, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Crisp, of Murray Bridge, and Alex T. Hendry, eldest son of Mrs L.M. Hendry and the late Mr A.T. Hendry, of Broken Hill.

The bridge wore a silk marocain gown with georgette panels and sleeves and a silk tulle veil with a crown of orange blossom.

She carried in her hand a sheaf of white flowers and fern.

After the ceremony a reception was held in the Druids’ Hall.

Farewell to Olympic eight

The Murray Bridge Olympic eight, which will leave the Outer Harbour on May 8, is to be tendered a public farewell in the Institute Hall, Murray Bridge, on Tuesday night next.

All are requested to be present.
