Have you ever considered running for council, but realised you had no idea what was involved?

Fortunately, an upcoming candidate briefing session from the Murray Bridge council has got you covered.

Ahead of the 2022 council elections, the Rural City of Murray Bridge will host a session next Tuesday night to give locals the low-down on how to become a candidate.

The seminar will cover topics such as the skills and characteristics of a council member, support available to members, campaigning during elections and resources available to candidates.

The council’s CEO, Michael Sedgman, will also be available for one-on-one appointments for those who are interested.

Those interested in running for council can attend webinars hosted by the Electoral Commission of South Australia throughout the month of August.

The Rural City of Murray Bridge will host their candidate briefing session next Tuesday, August 23 at 6pm at the local government centre on Seventh Street.

Council election nominations will open on the same and close at midday on Tuesday, September 6.
