In a stroke of good fortune, then, some talented Murray Bridge High School students will present their production of the Broadway musical Mary Poppins this weekend.
Tickets are still available for performances on Friday and Saturday nights and a Saturday matinee, so get yours and get ready to hum along with some familiar favourite songs – more information is below.

River Murray football and netball: Tailem Bend v Southern Mallee at Jaensch Park, Tailem Bend; Imperials v Coorong at Johnstone Park, Murray Bridge; Mypolonga v Jervois at Mypolonga Memorial Oval; Mannum v Mallee at Mannum Showground. A-grade football at 2.30pm, A-grade netball at 1.50pm.
First Gear: 8am-12pm and 1-5pm at the Bend Motorsport Park, Tailem Bend. First Gear is the easiest and cheapest intro to motorsport, for ages 12–17. You’ll be provided with a car for the day, and you’ll buddy up with a race driver instructor to coach you. This is also your first step to getting a full Motorsport Australia licence. If you're interested in circuit racing, rally or off-road racing, this is the place to start. Cost: $149 per person per session from motorsport.org.au.
Australian Super Trucks: From 8am at the Bend Motorsport Park, Tailem Bend. Witness these 1000-plus-horsepower monsters navigate South Australia’s world-renowned circuit for a weekend of thrills, spills and diesel fumes. Includes round three of the Victorian Motor Racing Championship. Support races include Victorian Super TT, Vic V8s, Hyundai Excel, Stock Cars Australia, HQ Holdens and Superkarts. Mowers at Meningie: 10am-6pm at Meningie Hotel. Get down and dirty this long weekend with the hottest ticket in town: mower racing. Diesel Drags: 1-6.30pm at the Dragway at the Bend, Tailem Bend. This is your chance to test your diesel-powered vehicle in a safe, controlled track environment.
