We hope you had a good rest over Christmas and are ready to head out and explore our beautiful region.

This weekend will kick off with a mega book sale, speedway is back and the Mannum Lions Club are holding a giant garage sale where you're sure to pick up a bargain.

Alternatively, you might prefer some fun in the sun at Murray Bridge Greyhound Racing Club's annual family day from 5pm on Sunday.

School holidays are still in full swing and the Murray Bridge Library has lots on during the week for kids of all ages.

Weezy Listening: 2-5pm at the Bridgeport Hotel, Murray Bridge. Join Lousie Weezy for her sublime vocals performing some relaxing covers and well-known ballads.

Fun in the Sun Family Day: From 5pm at Murray Bridge Greyhound Racing Club. Round up the family for a full day of sunshine, smiles and sensational entertainment. Enjoy the lively atmosphere with food trucks, a sizzling barbecue and great music as well as a full racing program. It’s the perfect chance for some school holiday fun. Free admission. Enjoy a reading of Darling Murray Darling by author Heather Freeman, then meet a real Murray Darling python and other fascinating native animals during an exciting visit from Animals Anonymous. The Penguin Lessons: 5.30pm at Murray Bridge Library. During the 1976 coup in Argentina, an English teacher (Steve Coogan) rescues a penguin and brings it to his school.
