In our last things to do for the year we've packed it will all you need to know about events over Christmas and New Years.

From carols, DJs, and DIY crafts to fireworks, a sausage sizzle and horse racing - there's got to be something for everyone in here.

Most importantly there will be fireworks at New Years Eve celebrations in both Mannum and Murray Bridge, which falls on a Wednesday this year.

Fireworks start in Murray Bridge from 9pm, while Mannum will be staying up to midnight to see their light display.

Stay safe, eat a lot of food on Christmas and have a happy new year.

Petals to Perseverance - static display: 10am-2pm daily until Dec 21st at Tailem Bend Community Centre, 141 Railway Terrace, Tailem Bend. Come and visit this beautiful static display which is a tribute to our farmers. Call the centre for more information - 8572 3513.

Global quiz: 11am-12 noon at Murray Bridge Library, 2/51 South Terrace, Murray Bridge. 1 hour, 50 questions, plenty of friendly competition. Whether you’re a seasoned quiz-goer or just in it for the banter, there’s something for everyone. Join us for the last quiz of the year. Call the library for more information - 8539 1175.

Callington carols: from 6.15pm at Callington Recreation and Community Centre, 20 Callington Road, Callington. Dinner from 6.30pm, carols from 7pm. Bring your rug and Christmas singing voices. Please bring your own drinks. Kids are welcome to dress up as angels and shepherds and we do have a limited number of costumes available. DJ Rob: 8.30pm at Swanport Hotel, 3166 Jervois Road, Murray Bridge. Remember the 00's? DJ Rob is back this Friday playing every banger you remember & some you wished you'd forgotten. Wednesday 31st

New Years Eve - Murray Bridge: From 5pm at Wharf Precinct, Sturt Reserve, Murray Bridge. Food trucks and live music from 5pm,. The Bridge lights up from 7.30pm followed by a spectacular fireworks at 9.30pm. Pack a picnic rug and get ready to ring in the New Year with family and friends.

New Years Eve - Mannum: From 11.30pm at Mary Ann Reserve, Mannum. The Mannum Progress Association is presenting the midnight fireworks display which can be seen from across town - weather permitting. Join us to ring in the New Year with a bang, it’s a celebration you won’t want to miss. All welcome.

Mannum hotel: from 8pm til late at 15 Randell Street, Mannum. We’re seeing in the new year with great food, live tunes, and a big pub atmosphere. Cars and coffee: 8am-10am at Wharf Precinct, Sturt Reserve, Murray Bridge. Time at Place. Family friendly meet for all car enthusiasts. All makes and models welcome. Bikes and Boats welcome. Coffee and food van on site. Held on the first Sunday of the month.

Mannum market: 9am-2pm at Arnold Park, Mannum. Relax by the river and support over 30 local makers. Art, craft, food and a range of produce available. Held on the first Sunday of the month.

Monday 5th January

Get Messy with Nature: 10am and 11am at Murray Bridge Library, 2/51 South Terrace, Murray Bridge. Make sunflower seed bombs to plant at home and craft native animal-inspired clay creatures using natural materials. A fun, hands-on experience for kids aged 5-12 and their families to explore art and nature together. Bookings essential - 8539 1175.

Tuesday 6th January

Morning tea and chat: 10am-12noon at the Mypolonga History Museum in the Mypolonga Institute, 1/19 Green Street, Mypolonga. Enjoy a morning tea and chat with the volunteers and peruse our collection of memorabilia and family histories. A donation on entry is appreciated. All welcome.
